Aki Tesno lives in the impoverished lower reaches of a vast valley and dreams of the wealthy world above. His skill with Armored Trooperoids has earned him a reputation as a fearless pilot, but the chance to reach the upper levels finally comes when a stranger hires him to rescue a kidnapped girl.

With Avy at his side, Aki heads toward ancient ruins where the captive is being held. What begins as a straightforward rescue becomes a dangerous clash between people from opposite sides of the valley, forcing Aki to discover how little he truly knows about the world he has always wanted to enter.
