Shirobako

Before graduating, Aoi Miyamori and her friends make a short animation together and promise that one day they will reunite to create a professional work of their own. Two and a half years later, Aoi is a production assistant at Musashino Animation and discovers that real anime production looks nothing like the orderly school dream she imagined.

Every episode depends on animators, writers, directors, voice actors, and a schedule that waits for nobody, and one small delay can drag an entire project toward collapse. Aoi moves from crisis to crisis trying to keep the staff working while her old friends struggle in different parts of the industry. Through exhaustion, revisions, and small victories, their old promise remains: somehow find a path that brings them together on one work they can be proud of.
