Slam Dunk: Ketsui no Shouhoku Basket-bu

Shohoku's practice match against Ryonan becomes an early proving ground for Hanamichi Sakuragi, whose raw athletic ability is obvious even while his lack of experience repeatedly betrays him. Captain Takenori Akagi and the talented rookie Kaede Rukawa carry their own determination into a contest that refuses to settle into an easy rhythm.

As the score swings back and forth, Ryonan's ace Akira Sendoh waits for the decisive moments while Sakuragi learns, mistake by mistake, what real basketball demands. Away from the court, Haruko Akagi and Hikoichi Aida compare the teams they admire, framing a match that reveals just how quickly Shohoku's unpredictable newcomer is beginning to grow.
