Slam Dunk

Hanamichi Sakuragi arrives at Shohoku High carrying a bad temper, a reputation for fighting, and the painful memory of being rejected by fifty girls. His plans for a fresh romantic start change when Haruko Akagi notices his extraordinary physique and asks a simple question: does he like basketball?

Hanamichi initially cares more about impressing Haruko than the sport itself, especially after learning that she admires gifted rookie Kaede Rukawa. But under captain Takenori Akagi and alongside a team of strong personalities, his raw strength and stubborn pride begin to turn into genuine skill. What starts as a ridiculous attempt to win a girl's attention slowly becomes an obsession with the court, his teammates, and victory.
