Hashire Melos

Melos is a straightforward young man who enters the city of Syracuse and is horrified by King Dionysius, a ruler so consumed by distrust that he executes anyone he suspects of betrayal. Melos openly condemns him and is sentenced to death.

He asks for only three days to return home for his sister's wedding, leaving his friend Selinuntius as a hostage. Floods, exhaustion, and temptation threaten to keep Melos from returning in time, turning his desperate run back to Syracuse into a test of whether trust between two people can survive a tyrant determined to prove that all humans are selfish.
