Mahou no Star Magical Emi: Kumo Hikaru

Before Mai Kazuki ever meets the mirror fairy Topo or becomes Magical Emi, she is simply a young girl waiting to become an older sister. Her mother is pregnant with Misaki, and Mai throws herself into learning to ride a bicycle while the family prepares for the baby's arrival.

Then her mother is suddenly hospitalized. Left with fear she cannot fully explain and a home that feels different without her, Mai struggles with loneliness and uncertainty. Long before magic enters her life, she has to find a small, ordinary kind of courage and accept the change a new member of the family will bring.
