Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku

Chidori High and Kikyo Private Academy stand next to each other, but the social distance between their students is enormous. Chidori is known for delinquents and poor grades, while Kikyo educates girls from wealthy, prestigious families. Rintarou Tsumugi, a tall Chidori student with an intimidating face, is used to people deciding what he is before he speaks.

While helping at his family's patisserie, Rintarou meets the cheerful Kaoruko Waguri, who treats him kindly without fearing his appearance. He begins looking forward to seeing her, only to learn that she attends Kikyo. As the two grow closer, they must face the hostility between their schools and the assumptions of people who consider their relationship wrong before knowing either of them.
