Violet Evergarden: Kitto "Ai" wo Shiru Hi ga Kuru no Darou

Opera singer Irma Felice asks Violet Evergarden to write a love letter for a man who never returned from the war. Her request is unusually demanding: the words must feel personal enough to carry Irma's heart, yet universal enough to move everyone who hears them when they become the lyrics of a new aria.

Violet tries again and again, but polished phrases cannot satisfy a grief Irma refuses to explain. As Violet searches for the feelings behind the request, she confronts another form of longing left by the war and takes one more step toward understanding the meaning hidden inside the words “I love you.”
