After the death of their father, Casval and Artesia Deikun are swept into a violent struggle for control of Side 3. Forced to abandon their old lives, the siblings are separated from the future that once seemed certain, while the ambitious Zabi family tightens its grip on the colonies.

Years later, Casval takes the name Char Aznable and begins the path that will make him Zeon's feared Red Comet.
