Pokemon: Mewtwo! Ware wa Koko ni Ari

Mewtwo and the cloned Pokémon have found a secluded place in Johto where they can live beyond the eyes of humans. Their refuge is discovered by Giovanni, who still sees Mewtwo as Team Rocket property and arrives with the technology needed to force the powerful Pokémon back under his control.

Satoshi and his friends are caught in the operation after crossing paths with Team Rocket. As the clones are used to pressure Mewtwo into surrendering, the conflict reopens the question that has haunted it since birth: whether a life created by humans can choose its own purpose and its own place in the world.
