Hajime Nagumo emerged from the abyss far stronger than the student who fell into it, yet his goal has never changed: find a way home. He continues searching the great labyrinths with Yue, Shea, Tio, Kaori, and the others for the ancient magic that might make that possible, while demon forces move and the wider world edges toward war. Hajime has little interest in playing the noble hero or saving strangers because someone expects it of him, but he becomes merciless when the people he chose are threatened. The closer home seems, the clearer it becomes that the greatest obstacle ahead is not something brute force alone can erase.
