Kingdom

During China's Warring States period, Xin and Piao grow up as war orphans serving in a poor village, training with swords every day and dreaming that they will someday become Great Generals under the Heavens. Their lives change when Piao is selected to serve at the royal palace, only to return later with fatal wounds and leave Xin a map and one final mission. At its destination Xin finds Ying Zheng, the young King of Qin, who looks astonishingly similar to Piao and has been driven from his throne by a coup. Xin begins the journey out of anger and loyalty to his friend, but it pulls him into the political and military struggle that will shape China and gives him his first real step toward a dream that once existed only between two boys.
