Lycoris Recoil

Japan appears unusually safe because a secret organization called Direct Attack uses orphaned girls trained as assassins, known as Lycoris, to stop crimes before the public ever hears about them. Takina Inoue is one of its best agents, but a reckless decision during a hostage operation gets her transferred to LycoReco, a café that hides a branch working by much looser rules.

There she is partnered with Chisato Nishikigi, an exceptionally gifted Lycoris who refuses to kill her enemies and treats helping ordinary people as a natural part of the job. Between café orders and covert missions, Takina begins to rethink what being a Lycoris means, while an enemy moves to expose the truth beneath the country's carefully maintained peace.
