The U-17 World Cup brings the strongest youth tennis teams to Melbourne, where Japan enters as an outsider against nations that have dominated the international stage for years. Germany is chasing another title, while Switzerland, France, the United States, and other powerhouses arrive with players capable of overwhelming even Japan's best. This time, however, the national squad includes elite middle-schoolers who survived the brutal U-17 training camp and earned places beside older representatives. Ryoma Echizen and his rivals must now turn old grudges into teamwork under captain Houou Byoudouin.
