Kidou Senshi Gundam: Dai 08 MS Shoutai

During the One Year War, Ensign Shiro Amada is sent to Southeast Asia to command the Earth Federation's 08th MS Team. Before even reaching his post, a battle in space brings him face to face with Zeon pilot Aina Sahalin, and the two survive together long enough to see the person behind the enemy uniform.

Back on Earth, Shiro leads his unit through a brutal guerrilla war while Zeon develops the powerful Apsaras mobile armor. When he discovers Aina is tied to the project, his feelings put his loyalty under suspicion. Shiro must protect his team while deciding how much of himself he is willing to surrender to a war he increasingly questions.
