Katta Kirifuda wants to become a champion duelist like his older brother Shobu, but he has no intention of simply copying the path that came before him. Together with Bucyake, Yohdel, and Benchan, he throws himself into Duel Masters with a reckless style and a determination to make a name of his own.

His rise brings him into conflict with powerful duelists such as Dragon Ryu and pulls him toward a larger struggle tied to the Hunter and Alien civilizations.
