Soukou no Strain

In the distant future, the Union fights a war so old that no one remembers how it began, relying on manned weapons called Strains that only specially linked pilots can control. Sara Werec attends a military academy with one goal: become a Strain pilot and follow the path of her admired older brother Ralph, a celebrated soldier sent to a distant front years earlier.

That dream shatters when Ralph suddenly appears as an enemy and leads an attack that destroys Sara's life and everything she believed about him. Forced to start over in a new unit, she forms a connection with an unusual older Strain and comrades who know nothing of her past. As the war continues, Sara must uncover why her brother betrayed humanity and decide whether she will remain trapped by the name she lost or find a new reason to fight.
