Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica

Madoka Kaname and her friend Sayaka live ordinary school lives until they meet Kyubey, a strange creature offering each of them one wish in exchange for becoming a magical girl and fighting witches. The bargain sounds like a chance to change everything, especially after experienced magical girl Mami Tomoe shows them what that power can do. New transfer student Homura Akemi, however, desperately warns Madoka not to accept. The deeper the girls enter this hidden world, the clearer it becomes that wishes are never free and magical battles bear little resemblance to heroic fantasies. Caught between hope and despair, Madoka must understand what a girl truly gives up for a miracle before deciding whether any wish is worth the price.
