Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan - Kyoto Douran

Kenshin's peaceful days at the Kamiya dojo end with the rise of Makoto Shishio, the assassin who took Battousai's place after Kenshin left the revolution. The Meiji government sees him as a threat capable of igniting another civil war, especially after years spent building an anti-government force around Kyoto.

Kenshin leaves Tokyo alone rather than drag his friends into a battle born from his past, but on the road he finds villages abandoned by the government and left under Shishio's control. Their conflict becomes the hardest test yet of Kenshin's vow not to kill, because Shishio understands exactly how Battousai once thought and intends to prove that the new era still answers only to strength.
