The Fourth Holy Grail War enters its bloodiest stage. Fewer Masters and Servants remain, and Fuyuki City itself is threatened by a danger large enough to force the rivals into a temporary truce. Any cooperation disappears the moment victory is again within reach.

The divide between Kiritsugu and Saber widens: he treats heroism as a brutal calculation of how many lives can be saved, while she clings to honor and direct confrontation. Elsewhere, Kirei Kotomine finds someone willing to encourage the desires he has spent his life denying. As the Grail draws closer, alliances and ideals collapse together.
