After Mizusawa's national championship victory, Chihaya returns to training with her eyes fixed on becoming Queen, while Taichi and Arata continue their own paths toward the top. Their dreams are no longer distant fantasies; recent results have made competing with Japan's best karuta players a real possibility.

Getting closer to the major individual titles places new pressure on their old friendship. Taichi struggles with feelings he cannot separate from karuta, Arata carries his grandfather's legacy and the expectations around him, and Chihaya continues chasing her dream with an intensity that can make her miss what is changing beside her.
