Ikkyuu-san

Ikkyuu is a young novice monk at Ankokuji Temple, but his mischievous nature makes him very different from the obedient student his teachers might prefer. What he lacks in solemnity, however, he more than makes up for with a remarkably quick mind.

Whenever adults present him with an impossible demand, a trick question, or an unfair problem, Ikkyuu sits down, thinks carefully, and finds an answer nobody expected. His clever solutions often create trouble first, yet they just as often help people and expose the foolishness of those who underestimated him.
