Channel 5.5 2nd Season

Motoko Kusanagi's world of cybercrime and elite public security is rebuilt according to rules that make considerably less sense than the original. One moment she is an incompetent officer struggling with basic kanji; the next she has somehow become the crustacean-themed "Ebinagi Motoko," while Aramaki is transformed just as freely by whatever joke the situation demands.

The chaos eventually reaches Batou and an absurd version of domestic life, complete with an unexpected family and a tiny discarded logic machine. Serious cyberpunk ideas repeatedly collapse into wordplay, workplace nonsense, and characters whose personalities refuse to remain consistent for more than a few minutes.
