Tenchi Masaki draws the attention of new cosmic powers as questions surrounding his abilities and his connection to Washu and Tsunami deepen. Lady Tokimi sends the warrior Z to Earth to observe him under strict orders not to cause harm, but Z has motives of his own and little interest in respecting those limits.

At the same time, Tenchi's father and grandfather decide he must finally learn more about his Jurai heritage and the secrets of his family.
