Three years after Aichi Sendou's generation changed the world of Vanguard, Chrono Shindou is a solitary teenager with little interest in other people. A mysterious deck of the unknown Gear Chronicle clan leads him to Card Capital 2, where Kamui Katsuragi introduces him to Vanguard and a future he never expected.

Chrono's path soon crosses with talented Shion Kiba and experienced Tokoha Anjou. Through battles, rivalries, and the formation of Team TRY3, the three discover ambitions that pull them beyond casual cardfights and toward a new generation of Vanguard.
