Sarazanmai

In Asakusa, Kazuki Yasaka, Tooi Kuji, and Enta Jinnai encounter a mysterious kappa named Keppi, who removes their shirikodama and transforms them into kappas. To regain their human forms, they must defeat Kapa-zombies, creatures born from human desire, and steal back the spiritual organs those monsters carry.

The problem is that the power needed to win only works when the three boys genuinely connect, and every successful connection exposes a secret one of them wanted hidden. Kazuki, Enta, and Tooi each have relationships they desperately want to preserve and truths they fear admitting, while the Plates of Hope they collect promise to grant wishes. Saving themselves means confronting why connection hurts them so much in the first place.
