Karen Aijou trains at Seishou Music Academy with one promise close to her heart: someday she will stand on the same stage as her childhood friend Hikari Kagura. When Hikari transfers into her class, that old dream seems suddenly within reach, until Karen discovers a secret theater beneath the school overseen by a talking giraffe. There, the Stage Girls fight through mysterious revues of song, performance, and blades to determine who will become the Top Star. Caught between her promise with Hikari and the ambitions of her classmates, Karen begins to learn that reaching the brightest place onstage may require someone else to fall.
