FLCL Progressive

Hidomi Hibajiri keeps her headphones on and her expectations low. School, her mother's café, and the same streets repeat every day, and she prefers the numb routine to anything that might demand too much from her. Then a woman armed with a guitar runs her over, a robot crashes into her life, and something begins growing from Hidomi's forehead.

Her classmate Ide is pulled into the same chaos as strange machines emerge and the conflict surrounding Medical Mechanica reaches their town. The impossible events keep forcing emotion through the walls Hidomi built around herself, while familiar-looking women with guitars pursue motives no one explains clearly. Adolescence was already confusing enough before robots started coming out of people's heads.
