FLCL Alternative

Kana Koumoto lives with her friends in a small town where every day seems like a copy of the one before it. School, music, painted nails, and ordinary conversations fill the time, yet she worries that youth will pass without anything worth remembering. The girls decide to build and launch a bottle rocket as a small challenge, only for a giant robot to crash down and destroy it, followed by a strange pink-haired woman named Haruko. From that moment, ordinary problems of friendship, romance, and growing apart become tangled with machines and battles no one can explain. While Kana tries to hold on to the familiar world she knows, she discovers that moving into the next stage of life may be stranger than any alien invasion.
