Haruka Nanase begins university and reunites with Asahi Shiina, but entering the wider world of competitive swimming also places him before former teammate Ikuya Kirishima. Years of separation and unresolved resentment make their shared water feel more distant than ever.

While Makoto searches for his own future and Rin trains abroad, Haruka confronts stronger swimmers and the limits of relying only on instinct. New encounters surrounding the All-Japan Invitational lead each friend toward a dream beyond high school, where reaching the world stage will require them to choose why they continue swimming.
