The race for the Ainu gold continues, but collecting tattooed prisoner skins is no longer the only problem. Lieutenant Tsurumi seeks an advantage for the Seventh Division by creating convincing fake skins, bringing taxidermist Edogai into the scheme. Sugimoto, Asirpa, and Shiraishi meanwhile follow rumors toward new criminals and tattoo fragments whose authenticity is increasingly difficult to judge. As every faction moves closer to Abashiri Prison and the man who knows the treasure's secret, alliances become more fragile. Hijikata has his own design, Tsurumi has an army, and Sugimoto trusts only those who have proven themselves on the road. Finding the gold has become a war of information as much as a hunt, and a single false map can redirect everyone.
