Prince Bojji is small, deaf, and unable to speak, so many people decide he is unfit to inherit the throne before they ever understand him. He notices their mockery clearly, yet keeps smiling and clings to his dream of becoming a great king. The first person to look at him without pity is Kage, a shadow creature whose attempt to rob him grows into the friendship that changes both their lives.
