Utawarerumono

A badly injured man awakens in a remote village with no memory of his name or past. Eruruu and her family take him in and call him Hakuoro, but one thing immediately sets him apart from the villagers around him: an unusual mask is fixed to his face and cannot be removed.

Hakuoro gradually finds a place among the people who saved him, only for the cruelty of those ruling the land to threaten their quiet lives. What begins as a fight to protect one village grows into rebellion and war, forcing Hakuoro into a role of leadership he never sought. As nations move and old powers awaken, the truth behind his mask and forgotten identity becomes increasingly difficult to ignore.
