Log Horizon

Thirty thousand Japanese players enter Elder Tale after its latest update and discover that logging out is no longer possible. The virtual world has become their reality, and veteran player Shiroe responds to the shock by treating it as a new set of rules that must first be understood. Together with Naotsugu and Akatsuki, he investigates how combat, death, and the supposedly non-player inhabitants have changed now that everything feels real. Yet monsters are not the greatest threat. A society of trapped players is beginning to lose direction, so Shiroe turns his attention to Akihabara and the harder task of building a place worth living in rather than merely surviving.
