Gin no Saji

Yuugo Hachiken enrolls at Ooezo Agricultural High School in Hokkaido to escape the pressure and expectations of his family. Confident that strong grades will give him an easy advantage, he quickly discovers that his classmates understand farming, animals, and physical labor in ways no textbook can teach.

Between predawn chores, livestock care, how food is produced, and exhausting fieldwork, Hachiken begins to understand the real cost behind what people consume. Most of his classmates have clear goals tied to family farms, while he does not even know what he wants from his own future. What began as an escape gradually becomes a chance to think seriously about his life among people who have learned that difficult choices do not disappear simply because they are avoided.
