Tengoku Daimakyou

After a catastrophe destroys civilization, man-eating creatures roam the ruins of Japan. Through this broken world, Maru and Kiruko travel in search of a place called “Heaven,” guided by little more than a mysterious image and scattered promises while passing settlements that reveal different ways people have learned to survive.

Elsewhere, children live inside an isolated facility that appears safe and almost perfect, surrounded by walls that keep the outside world completely hidden. Their curiosity grows as contradictions begin appearing in the life adults have designed for them. As the two journeys unfold, clues start connecting the ruined world to the sealed sanctuary, and the truth about what happened to humanity may prove more disturbing than the monsters wandering its remains.
