More than a thousand years after humans first developed psychokinetic abilities, Saki Watanabe lives in Kamisu 66, a peaceful community that appears to have left humanity’s violent past behind. When her power finally awakens, she joins the Sage Academy with her friends Maria, Shun, Satoru, and Mamoru, but soon notices that weaker children can disappear without anyone mentioning them again.

Beyond the town’s boundaries, the friends encounter creatures called Monster Rats that worship psychics like gods, then discover forbidden information about human history and how their society was created. Every answer makes the safe world they knew more disturbing. As the years pass, childhood secrets grow into a conflict that threatens humanity itself, and Saki learns that the peace her generation inherited was never free.
