Hanasaku Iroha

Ohana Matsumae leaves Tokyo after her mother runs away with a boyfriend and sends her to live with a grandmother she barely knows. Ohana arrives at the rural Kissuisou inn expecting a family home, only to discover that her grandmother runs it with strict discipline and expects her to work like any other employee.

Ohana knows nothing about hospitality, and her blunt personality quickly creates friction with the staff, especially Minko, who wants nothing to do with her. Over time, she learns to clean rooms, serve guests, and understand the invisible effort behind the inn while building relationships independent of her mother and former life. The place she was sent against her will gradually becomes somewhere she may choose to belong.
