Pluto

Android detective Gesicht is assigned to investigate the murder of Montblanc, one of the world's most powerful robots and a former war hero. Soon after, a human robot-rights activist is killed in a similar manner, followed by another elite machine, convincing Gesicht that the murderer is choosing targets with a specific purpose.

The robot victims were among seven extraordinary machines who took part in a devastating past war, and Gesicht himself is one of them. He turns to Atom, an advanced robot boy, for help understanding an enemy that may be able to violate society's most important rule: robots do not kill humans. As the name Pluto emerges, memories of war and buried guilt return, turning the hunt for a serial killer into a deeper question about hatred and whether machines can inherit it from the people who created them.
