Raise wa Tanin ga Ii

To end years of hostility between two major yakuza groups, their leaders arrange an engagement between their grandchildren: Yoshino Somei of Osaka and Kirishima Miyama of Tokyo. Seventeen-year-old Yoshino moves into her new fiancé's family home, where Kirishima greets her with perfect manners and a smile that feels almost too reassuring.

She soon discovers that beneath the polite exterior is a man disturbingly comfortable with violence and danger. When he insults her for not being as interesting as he expected, Yoshino refuses to become the victim he imagined. Instead of running away, she decides to make him regret underestimating her, turning their political engagement into a strange contest between two people who may be each other's worst possible partner and most compelling opponent.
