Ritsu Onodera leaves his father's publishing company to prove he can succeed under his own name, only to arrive at Marukawa Publishing and be assigned to shoujo manga instead of the literary work he expected. His demanding new editor-in-chief, Masamune Takano, is also the same person who was Ritsu's first love in high school.

An old misunderstanding ended their relationship and left Ritsu determined to avoid love, while Takano behaves as though he has decided to win him back no matter how long it takes. Deadlines, difficult authors, and the relentless pace of manga publishing keep their professional lives tangled with a past that was never resolved. Around them, other editors and creators are caught in complicated romances of their own.
