Nagi no Asu kara

Humanity once lived entirely beneath the sea, until some people chose the surface and lost the “Ena” that allowed them to breathe underwater. Generations later, physical distance has hardened into mistrust between sea dwellers and those who live on land.

When their school closes, Hikari, Manaka, Chisaki, and Kaname must attend classes on the surface, where they meet Tsumugu, a boy fascinated by the sea. New friendships and complicated feelings emerge as the four adjust to a world that does not always welcome them. Yet social tension is only part of the danger, as the sea itself begins changing in ways that may alter the future of both communities.
