Kowloon Generic Romance

Thirty-two-year-old Reiko Kujirai lives a comfortable routine in the second Kowloon Walled City, working at a real estate office beside her younger coworker Hajime Kudou. She loves the heat of the old alleys, their food, and the familiar rhythm of daily life, and she also carries feelings for Kudou that she has never quite understood. Then one day he kisses her while half asleep, only to act as though he had mistaken her for someone else.

That moment opens questions Reiko cannot answer. The more she looks into Kudou's past, the more traces she finds of a woman who resembles her disturbingly closely, along with memories she apparently should possess but does not. Surrounded by Kowloon's heavy nostalgia and emotions that feel completely real, Reiko begins doubting something more fundamental than her relationship with Kudou: who she is at all, and why the city itself seems to be preserving a memory no one wants to confront.
