Rimuru returns to Tempest after expanding his young nation's ties with its neighbors, only to discover how fragile that peace really is. The kingdom of Falmuth and the Western Holy Church see a monster-led country as a threat, and a coordinated attack cuts Tempest off from its magic while its citizens are targeted directly.

When Rimuru reaches the aftermath, protecting what he built is no longer enough. He searches for a way to restore those he lost and confront the powers that decided Tempest should not exist. The choice he makes pushes him toward an evolution he never originally sought and permanently changes his place among demon lords and surrounding nations.
