Two thousand years ago, Demon King Anos Voldigoad ended a brutal war between humans and demons by sacrificing his own life, expecting to be reborn in a more peaceful age. When that day finally comes, he discovers a world where magic has weakened and his descendants no longer even remember his true name.

Anos enrolls at the Demon King Academy, an institution created to identify his reincarnation, only to be labeled a “misfit” because history itself has been altered and another name has been attached to his deeds. The verdict hardly troubles him; his power is so far beyond the academy’s standards that its tests become almost meaningless.
