Ore Monogatari!!

Takeo Gouda is enormous, intimidating, and hopelessly unlucky in romance. Girls who meet him tend to fall for his handsome best friend Makoto Sunakawa instead, even though Takeo himself is gentle, loyal, and quick to help anyone in trouble. He has largely accepted that pattern until he rescues Rinko Yamato from a harasser on a train and falls for her immediately.

When Yamato begins seeking him out, Takeo assumes she must actually be interested in Sunakawa and decides to help them get together. His wonderfully wrong conclusion opens the door to a love story far sweeter, stranger, and funnier than he expected, as Takeo learns that being loved does not require him to look like the romantic hero he imagined.
