Genjo Sanzo continues west with Son Goku, Sha Gojyo, and Cho Hakkai to prevent Gyumaoh's resurrection, but their growing reputation means demon assassins now wait for them at nearly every turn. After everything they have survived, raw enemy strength is no longer the only danger. Tension inside the group rises, old differences surface, and a powerful opponent learns how to exploit the weaknesses each traveler prefers to hide.
