Kou Ichinomiya has grown used to being called Recruit and living among the eccentric residents beneath Arakawa Bridge, but the community still finds new ways to surprise him. The arrival of the intimidating Amazoness and the self-proclaimed Earth Defense Force captain makes the riverside even more chaotic.

Amid the absurd games and strange newcomers, Kou continues trying to understand Nino. Small clues about her past and her connection to Venus make his feelings harder to dismiss as another joke, forcing him to consider how much of this impossible riverside life he is willing to believe.
