Koudo Ikusei Senior High gives its students remarkable freedom and generous monthly points, but the school's real system rewards results and ranks classes from A to D. Kiyotaka Ayanokouji lands in Class D, the group reserved for students the school considers defective, alongside the ambitious Suzune Horikita and the sociable Kikyou Kushida. Once the class learns how quickly privileges can disappear, ordinary school life becomes a competition where strategy, manipulation, and alliances are all allowed. Ayanokouji appears content to stay unnoticed, yet the calm student in the back row is hiding abilities far beyond what his classmates expect.
