Akame ga Kill!

Tatsumi leaves his impoverished village for the capital hoping to earn money, only to discover that the heart of the Empire is far more corrupt than the countryside he wanted to save. He is taken in by Night Raid, an assassination unit working with the revolution against Prime Minister Honest and the nobles who support him. After witnessing the regime's cruelty himself, Tatsumi joins them and begins killing people the rebellion sees as obstacles to change.

Night Raid never pretends assassination is clean heroism. Every mission carries a direct cost in lives and conscience, forcing Tatsumi to decide what he can sacrifice for a country he can no longer accept as it is.
